Let Her Shine, a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and young people, has signed its first international partnership: a Memorandum of Understanding with Hoa Sữa School, a Hanoi-based vocational school for disadvantaged youth.
The agreement, signed by Let Her Shine Co-Founder & President Thania Trieu and Hoa Sữa School leadership, establishes a framework for collaboration in education access, vocational skill development, mentorship, and scholarship support for the school's students.
Founded in 1994 by educator Phạm Thị Vy, Hoa Sữa School has trained thousands of disadvantaged and disabled young people in vocational trades, helping them build independent, self-sufficient futures. The school's mission — training youth for meaningful careers while offering wraparound support for students facing hardship closely aligns with Let Her Shine's own commitment to education, emotional literacy, and economic opportunity.
During the visit, Let Her Shine presented small tokens of support to students recognized for their hard work, discipline, and perseverance in the face of significant personal challenges.
"This scholarship is more than financial support," Trieu told the students. "It is a message that you are not alone. We believe in your hard work, your dreams, and your future."
Let Her Shine Co-Founder & CFO Sean Lam noted that the organization plans to work closely with Hoa Sữa School to design programs tailored to students' real needs — connecting them with mentors, speakers, and resources, and identifying future scholarship and funding opportunities.
Following the signing, VOV WORLD, Vietnam's national external broadcasting service, published a story on the partnership, highlighting both the collaboration and the stories of the students it aims to support.
Let Her Shine extended its gratitude to the donors, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose generosity made the trip and the partnership possible.
"Together, we don't simply tell young people they can shine," Trieu said. "We help create and contribute to the opportunities that allow them to do it."
Let Her Shine and Hoa Sữa School plan to continue building this partnership in the months ahead, with future scholarships and support programs to follow as resources become available.
